About

When we moved to Crete Lodge in 1993, apart from a few mature trees the garden was just weeds and rough grass. Initially, we had a lot of work to do on renovating the house before starting work on the garden. So, after building an extension to the house but not fully completing it, we thought we would make a start on the garden. Well the house still isn't finished but the garden has come on in leaps and bounds.

When we started the garden, the exotic bug hadn't bitten and the style was more of a cottage garden. It wasn't until we started on the front garden and we were looking for something different to plant, that we discovered our first exotic, a Trachycarpus fortunei, a lovely hardy palm and the rest, as they say is history.
